You Who Knew
04:28
|

Here I stand, alone again
but listening to the ghosts inside my head
no i swear i'm not a monster, but it's thoughts like these that push you from my bed
sun it casts a darker shadow
covers stains from sips and tricks I led
But it's you who knew
With you I want to forget all of those regrets
Wants to be a better version
of all those ghosts that crawl inside my head
forget all the long talks, interviews and jobs you hoped to have
it's where I sit that reminds me why I want the love that stands
But it's you who knew
With you I want to forget all of those regrets

Grey Ghost
03:32

Grey sea, the months passed slowly, very slowly
You came, in a dream so lonely, very lonely
Feel it out, cut it short
Though we're apart we'll meet once more
Blue sea, your return goes slowly, very slowly
Your face, slows the ligustrum scented days
Feel it out,
Breathe you in
Though you're away we'll meet again.
But somewhere you got lost in ways you didn't know
And you sink so low
Why'd you leave me on my own?
And somewhere you got lost in ways I didn't know
And you sunk so low
Why'd you leave me on my own with your gray ghost?
Now I spend my days in silence, quiet silence.
That's not to say I am compliant from my reliance
Show your face just once more,
Though you're so gone I miss our shores
Windy days on the sands lines
Thought of you when love was alive.
You appeared with no fear
I left home, you haunt me because you care
But somewhere you got lost in ways you didn't know
And you sunk so low
Why'd you leave me on my own?
And somewhere you got lost in ways I didn't know
And you sunk so low
Why'd you leave me on my own with your gray ghost?

Young Thumbs
04:27
|
|||
I'd be wrong if I said
a ghost was not laying in my bed
but he does not trust he's fickle he's fleeting
so my young thumbs they box him up instead
Blades of white above my head
they swirl the ghost that lingers as he's swept under the cracks
but blades cannot move fast enough
so my young thumbs they cast him off instead
Send love on my way
When it's clear
past this ghost grey veneer
I'm correct the ghost was not in need
transparent limbs he took some years from me
now that he's gone i'm trusting what's in me
so my young heart can breathe easy
Send love on my way
Yes it was dark, yes it was dark
But I'm not sad, I'm not cold, I'm still warm

You were out summer day
The humid air it clung so tight
with our lips we would love
in summer skies moonlight
In the dark we would meet
you knew my breed you would not heed
all the while mama cried
she wanted rich love right
And you brought the ring you gave to me with soft hands
And we held each other close in loving arms
Hearts tears and glass
When I left for Charleston
I could not sleep I could not eat
in my dream I saw snow
on top those sea lined streets
When I died oh to soon
you could not take my hand to wed
but you never knew
that I'd left you for life
And I brought the ring you gave to me with soft hands
And we held each other close in drifting arms
Hearts tears and glass
In my grave summer day
I crave the air creeps in so tight
my old bones barely there
but my ring lives inside
And I brought the ring you gave to me with soft hands
And we held each other close in drifting arms
Hearts tears and glass

The Apparition

And when by your scorn darling yes you find me dead,
you think that now you're free from all pleading from me
that's when my ghost, my memories will creep to your bed
standing watching waiting for a glimpse of regret
I see you're in new arms,
she's feeding you new charms
a candle winks
She's lacking something more
can she fall asleep, touch like me before?
And in fake sleep you turn you body to the wall,
the pale trees cry cold moonlit skies can read your tired eyes,
you loved me then you left me, left me high and dry
now how's it feel to have the cold, a better ghost than I?
I see you're in new arms,
she's feeding you new charms
a candle winks
she's lacking something more
can she fall asleep, touch like me before?
My love is spent
you painfully regret my ghost
