The Sure Line
04:03
|
|||
When I couldn't find it,
I searched hours upon days
When I couldn't feel it,
I tried to scour and sort my ways
Paranoia doesn't get you too far
Guess I never really got a fair start
But, all I know
Is there's room for us to grow
Fingertips,
They outline maps of two in this
Yes, it's been a long time
Since I've left the sure lines
It's fall in the garden,
The leaves are furling with the wind
We've kept ourselves close now,
In our room hiding from the din
Paranoia doesn't get you too far,
Guess I never really had a fair start
But, all I know
Is there's room for us to grow
Fingertips,
They outline maps of two in this
Yes, it's been a long time
Since I've left the sure lines.

Oh, Brother
03:06
|
|||
Oh brother, what you seek lies here
And the flowers, they bloomed soon this year
Birds cross wires their shadows line
The house where we once lived
So tell me why, you seem to try
To run away your fears?
You find
You're fine
Now brother, where we are is clear
Roads and shallow remarks soothed your ears
Whippoorwills and willows, they yearn for your return
So tell me why, you always try
To play away, pluck away your fears?
You fine
You're fine.

Floorboards
02:35
|
|||
All of the clothes they pile on the floorboards
You and I make our way far from the door
Tickets and gin we laugh about old nights
When you held me closely away from the fights
Winter was coming hands ache, chill cool winds
I find a place for mine in your front coat
You're a layer
You curl onto my neck and hold
Neath the cold dark,
You weave good words and make me whole
All of our clothes still pile on our new floors
Though it's been years since I've seen my old fears
Spaces they change, we laugh about old nights
Ever so slightly we've gained love in age
See fall is coming, knees ache, chill cool winds
We move together, two leaves in the trees

Shades of Blue
04:10
|
|||
Funny how things always change
You take whats yours,
You wonder how its played
Some days I wonder away
Like how are you
Or if you're not ok
Well, I would never wish you sadness
Yes, I'm glad we played our game too
And, I am loving well it's not you
But I'd like you to know that
There are other shades than blue
I watch you dissipate in good ways
Water always poured in May
So what's it now?
It floods in all your gates
Don't make questions you can't say
Like “are you with
Another man these days”
Haven't heard your voice in years
I hope you found a love that fills your fears
Well, I would never wish you sadness
And yes I'm glad we had a go too
And, I am loving well it's not you
But I'd like you to know that
There are other shades of blue

Like A New Bird
04:12
|
|||
Leave, leave it on the floor
I recognize the times when I was sure
That now, we've got everything
A loving year that came with fears of future days
Go by, with you by my side
I forget all the hours drowned in fretful sounds
Darling I'm afraid of everything
and I complain and leave remains with my old words
But darling, with you I hear only melodies
I regain strength and fly off like a new bird
Put, put your feet on ground
The air it fills my lungs and stirs my love around
Your face, though we both are strained
From working hard and standing round for others sake
I know, that although it's hard
We forget all the hours drowned in fretful sound
Darling I'm afraid of everything
and I complain and leave remains with my old words
But darling, with you I hear only melodies
I regain strength and fly off like a new bird
Like a new bird.
